Seattle Pride is an event held in Seattle, Washington that celebrates the lgbtq+Q+ community. It traditionally occurs in June coinciding with Pride Month and commemorating the Stonewall Riots of 1969. Seattle Pride has been a tradition since 1974 evolving from a grassroots gathering into one of the largest Pride festivals across the United States. Its purpose is to foster a sense of community promote inclusivity and advocate for lgbtq+Q+ rights.
The festival encompasses a range of activities and events including the iconic Seattle Pride Parade. This vibrant procession showcases dazzling floats, lively marching bands and numerous community organizations marching together to support lgbtq+Q+ rights. The parade route typically begins in downtown Seattle meandering through neighborhoods before culminating at the esteemed Seattle Center.

Another standout feature of Seattle Pride is its gathering known as PrideFest. Held at the Seattle Center this dynamic event offers live music performances by local artists captivating drag shows,
a delectable array of food trucks to satisfy your cravings and an impressive assortment of vendors offering diverse merchandise. Family friendly by design the festival ensures there are engaging activities catered for all age groups including an area specifically tailored for children.

In addition to these festivities the city of Seattle hosts an array of Pride related events, throughout June. These include thought provoking film screenings,
inspiring art exhibits
and educational panels aimed at enhancing understanding and awareness within our community. These events have the purpose of fostering an understanding of the lgbtq+Q+ experience and encouraging conversations about the difficulties faced by the community.

Seattle Pride actively supports nonprofit organizations that strive to enhance the lives of lgbtq+Q+ individuals. The funds raised during the festival are allocated to these groups allowing them to continue their work in areas such as healthcare, education and advocacy.
Ensuring rights for lgbtq+QIA+ individuals involves more than just organizing parades and picnics. (Although lets admit it; we excel at both!)

Throughout the year Seattle Pride coordinates efforts, in advocacy and allyship to promote diversity and inclusivity—. To motivate our community into action.
